Conquer Soap Scum and Grime with Natural Cleaners

Every homeowner knows that the first step to maintaining a home is keeping it clean. Clean bathroom surfaces offer safety and longevity. With so many cleaning products on the market, it’s hard to know which one is best for your bathroom. At Fox Valley Bathtub Refinishing, our specialty is repairing, refinishing, and maintaining bathroom surfaces. We’re pros at keeping bathroom surfaces in peak condition. From marble, acrylic, and cast iron, each surface must be carefully treated. The good news is that some of the easiest bathroom cleaning tricks are inexpensive and natural!

Bathroom Cleaning Supplies:

Vinegar

Vinegar is an incredible cleaning product that is safe for the environment and easy on the pocketbook. Combine equal parts warm water and vinegar for a safe cleaner. Spray this combination on your bathtub surfaces and let sit for 15 minutes. Rinse and remove excess water for a deeper clean.

Baking Soda

For heavier stains, sprinkle baking soda on tub surfaces and spray with vinegar and water solution to form a paste. Let sit for 15 minutes, wipe, and rinse surfaces. If you prefer using store bought cleaning agents, avoid ammonia or acid-based cleaners.

Soft Sponge

Use a soft sponge or towel to cover each area of the tub with your bathtub cleaning agent. Avoid using steel wool or abrasive brushes that can damage surfaces.

Squeegee

Bacteria thrives in dark, moist, and warm environments. Removing these factors is a great way to keep the bathtub clean. Use a squeegee or towel to remove excess moisture to prevent soap scum and grime buildup.

Avoid sifting through the sea of cleaning supplies at the store by sticking to the basics. Vinegar, baking soda, sponge, and a squeegee are all you need to keep your bathtub clean and maintained. We are proud to offer eco-friendly cleaning and refinishing options to our customers in St. Charles and surrounding Chicago areas.
